After doing the four minor Ruta Puuc sites, we had time to go to a cenote.  There aren't any right in that area (which is why Chaak, the rain god, is so common there on Mayan buildings because they had serious water issues during the dry season) so we drove about 45 minutes north to the ones here.  I didn't go down because my foot was giving me a lot of trouble, but sitting in the car with it propped up, reading a book, wasn't a bad way to spend the afternoon either.

The place we went had two cenotes.  The first was covered and more like a cave.  The second was open.  This was the only one we visited but it would have been fun to do more if we'd had more time.  Cenotes are cool.
