Church of the Holy Trinity

We wandered around a bit on Monday night and I really liked La Santisima. We were there as it was getting dark so the photos aren't great.  This church is a very good demonstration of sinking buildings in Mexico DF. In one of the photos you can see the street leading down to the church.  In 1924, it was estimated that the church had sunk 10 feet, and since it's so much heavier than surrounding buildings, it's sunk quite a bit in relation to them.  In 1980 they dug the foundation out and you can see how far up the building they had to go.  I think it would have been interesting to see it before they dug it out and to have walked down into the entrance of the church.
