It's Victory Day in Kyrgyzstan, so we went down to Victory Square this morning.  My favorite thing is to see the veterans.  Most that you see here would have been in Afghanistan in the 80s, although there was one older man (we didn't get a very good picture of him).  And I love the photo of the two boys near the end.  They were just doing their thing.

We ran into another researcher who commented that there are many more Russians out for this holiday than others.  That's certainly true.  Victory Day has a very different feeling.

Oh my gosh! We have a beautiful photo of one of the very same old men! (looking around here again because it brings back so many memories)

  2. I felt like we were taking photos of some of the same people too, from when we were in Bishkek on Victory Day in 2005.
