Destination a Day: Jerusalem

I figured today would be a good day to post about Jerusalem since Holy Week is one of the times I miss Jerusalem most.  I know it's very different there now than when I was there last in the mid 1990s (stupid wall), but I'd live there with my family in a heartbeat.

  1. I didn't know you spent time in Jerusalem. That's cool.
We spent 6 weeks in Rehovot at the Weizmann Institute in 2007. My husband was invited to do some collaborative scientific research. Because he was working, we were only able to really explore during the weekends. (I wasn't up to taking my four young children on tours by myself--I did take them on long 4 hour walks around campus during the day!) Anyhow, living in Israel, even for such a short time, was incredible.

We were able to spend a little time in Jerusalem. I thought the hype of Jerusalem would be over-rated. So I was stunned when we visited by the feelings I had exploring that city. I was overwhelmed as I stood on the hill at the Jerusalem center looking over the city at the Dome of the Rock.

I hope I get to go back someday.
