There was enough that was good in this book to keep me going till the end, although I tired quickly of hearing about the author’s relationship with her boyfriend/husband. It makes sense that she wrote so much about him, since her relationship with him was why she was in China at all. Maybe I wanted something a little less honest. Or a little less whole. The parts about cooking in China were fun. Even if the whole going-to-cooking-school-in-China thing is getting old.
