No, I had never read this book before, and it was about time I did. I thought it was excellent and certainly worth reading, even though I listened to an audio version with a reader who isn't my favorite (the same reader does our Narnia series, and he bugs me there too). Recommended.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. It's one of my all-time favorites. Funny thing about the audio--that's how I first read it too, and maybe that's good because the unconventional punctuation for the conversations was a stumbling block for many in my in-person book group, though when I re-read it in print, it didn't bother me. Anyway, I'll link to your review.
