St. Petersburg

My parents are going to be spending most of the next two years in St. Petersburg- the one in Russia, not Florida. While there is a slight difference of opinion on whether a trip to St. Petersburg or a down payment on a house would be a better option- (does my husband actually think we'd stay in any one house long enough to make up for the trip?), I've got it all planned out. And maybe we'll get to go.

  1. What a cool opportunity. I love living abroad.

  2. My brother is currently serving a mission in the St Petersburg mission and was in the city itself volunteering in the Hermitage. He is now in Kaliningrad so you wouldn't see him. If i didn't have so many kids I would go visit him myself. How did you get a job in Kyrgyzstan? My husband is curious. We miss the expat lifestyle.

  4. My husband was teaching law on a Fulbright grant. It's hard to find good jobs in Kyrgyzstan- at least ones that pay enough for us to fly the entire family there. I cannot tell you how much I miss being an expat.

  5. Yes, you'll go. You're smart that way.

Sometimes you can get amazingly cheap tickets to Paris, perhaps something like that will come together for you to St. Petersburg.

  6. Not smart enough. We didn't go to Samarqand, did we?

But I'll start looking for those amazingly cheap tickets.
