Yellowstone

I was able to go to Yellowstone on my own on Saturday while the boys were all camping. I had a wonderful time and saw several new geysers. So, as always, there are lots of geyser pictures following.

Yellowstone just seems to be a happy coincidence of science, magic, and mountains. I hope very much that we can live near here again. There are few places where I feel so relaxed.

Dearst Amira,

You're simply beautiful. Thank you so much for the pictures.

When I was first married, we lived in Rexburg for a brief time. I traveled more than once to the western portion of Yellowstone alone. I did some of my most productive thinking there.

Once, when faced with some serious decisions I drove up in the evening. I have no idea if it is different now, but fifteen years ago the park was wide open at night. I sat on the benches and watched several different gysers go off, in the light of the full moon. I wish I had had the presence of mind to take my camera along. The memories of that night are vivid and surreal.

I love the pureness of the gysers.

Thanks again!

I love that. I'm really enjoying all of your posts about Yellowstone. We definitely have to go this summer.
